What the evidence shows

A couple of meta-analyses find curcumin reduces depressive symptoms — but the underlying trials are small, short, heavily overlapping, mostly tested it as an add-on to antidepressants, and carry a real risk of publication bias. Promising as an adjunct, not an established antidepressant.
