Does a 10-hour eating window help shift workers heart and metabolic health?
Leans support Promising in one decent randomized trial, but it is Panda's own lab, both arms were also nudged toward a Mediterranean diet, benefits were modest/subgroup-limited, and it has not been independently replicated.
Do a few days of a low-calorie fasting-mimicking diet each month actually improve blood-sugar, blood-pressure and cholesterol markers?

Can monthly fasting-mimicking-diet cycles make you biologically younger?
Insufficient A few small trials report modestly younger 'biological age' markers from periodic fasting-mimicking-diet (FMD) cycles β€” with three honest caveats. First, much of this research comes from Valter Longo's lab, and Longo founded L-Nutra, the company that sells the ProLon FMD kit β€” a direct commercial interest in the result. Second, 'biological age' is a soft, contested lab surrogate (aging clocks), not a hard health outcome β€” and unlike major diet trials that hit hard endpoints (e.g. DiRECT's type-2-diabetes remission), FMD hasn't shown that. Third, the supporting trials are small and some are population-specific. Graded leans-support: real but preliminary, and to be read with the commercial-interest caveat in mind.
Does fasting to lose weight make you lose muscle too?
Contested Fasting protocols do reduce fat-free mass, but the loss is modest and roughly the same as ordinary daily calorie restriction β€” not uniquely muscle-sparing as Fung claims, nor uniquely muscle-wasting; it is protocol-, duration-, protein- and training-dependent.
Is the fasting-mimicking diet a safer way to get fasting's benefits than doing water-only fasts?
